Items from Giant Hypermarket

On Thursday 24th November members (and some family members) of the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) met at the Durbanville Catholic church to help pack items of food for the ‘Bags Of Love‘ project.

Utilizing the generous donations given by parishioners, a set list of items had been purchased from the Giant Hypermarket at Cape Gate who had given us fantastic discounts on each product. There products were loaded into members vehicles and trailers and transported to the church.

Giant have consistently supported the SVP over the years with very generous discounts.

Sorting and unpacking

Once at the church all the items were unloaded from the vehicles and trailers and loaded onto tables set out in the church meeting room to sort and pack into bags which had been generously donated by Food Lovers Market.

With the help of all the SVP members the bags were soon packed. A total of 95 bags were packed in record time.

A huge ‘Bag Of Thanks’ for all the generous donations from our parishioners who have donated over the years. Without your help non of this would be possible and many of the disadvantaged members of our society would be the poorer for it over the Christmas period.
