Together We Can: Making a Difference One Meal at a Time
What an absolutely amazing day we had recently at our parish hall as we rolled up our sleeves and came together for a heartwarming cause! In celebration of the World Day of the Poor, our dedicated SVP members set out with one common goal: they made 1100 sandwiches. 500 for Mercy Aids (5 kitchens), 300 for Hotspot and 300 for MES
Each sandwich represents more than just bread and filling—it signifies a moment of kindness, a gesture of solidarity, and a tangible way to show our love for our neighbors. Knowing that every bite will nourish someone who may be struggling makes our efforts worthwhile. Wouldn't you agree?
The energy was infectious as volunteers assembled, spread, and packed each sandwich with care. It was an opportunity to connect, share stories, and, of course, enjoy some delicious snacks along the way! The photos we captured during this event not only showcase their hard work but also encapsulate the joy and warmth that radiated from all of us.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated, from our seasoned sandwich makers to our enthusiastic newcomers. Your dedication and heart make all the difference! Together, we’re not just making sandwiches; we’re building a compassionate community rooted in love and service.
As we prepare to distribute these sandwiches to our local soup kitchens and others, let’s carry that spirit of compassion and generosity forward. Each sandwich is a reminder that, together, we can make the world a better place—one act of kindness at a time.
And as always, a huge thank you to all our parishioners and supporters, whose support allows us to do this.
