The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) has donated R5,000 to the Toni Dammert Foundation to help feed the poor in these very difficult times.
The TD Foundation is a non-profit company in Kuilsriver,Cape Town which main aim is to assist the under privileged community through handing out nutritional soup, bread and food parcels.The company was found in July 2018 by Jodene Josias-Malan and was named after the Late Toni Dammert who passed away on 30th May 2018 due to lung problems
Toni Noelle Dammert was born on 5 March 1993.She attended Goeie Hoop Primary School and De Kuilen Primary and High Schools.After matric she enrolled for a LLB degree at UWC which she passed cum laude. She represented UWC at the international moot competition in Washington DC and went on to be the chairperson of the UWC moot society.She gained employment with Bowman and Gilfillan where she completed her articles.She was admitted to the bar in March 2018 and passed away on 30 May 2018. She had committed herself to Jesus Christ as a young adult.
Since registration in 2018 the foundation has been active in feeding about a 120 people in Stilwaney, Bellville South with hot soup and bread or a hearty cooked meal weekly ,as well as delivering food parcels in the Kalkfontein area.
Most of the contributions thus far have been done on a voluntary basis ,where friends and family of the beloved Toni Dammert pitch in. By doing this they are keeping the memory of Toni alive. Receiving the funds from SVP will definitely go a long way in them realizing their dream and ultimately feeding the needy .
The company is reliant on the generosity of organizations such as the SVP to sustain in feeding the needy.
